Dog potty training is one of the most essential components of house training a dog.

It is important not just for maintenance of basic hygiene and safety in your house but also to save you from additional trouble of cleaning up your house every now and then.

Make sure, you take him to the same places to ensure that he makes it a habit and gestures you to take him there when he feeling like shitting.

If you keep repeating the routine for some days, your dog will get the sense of the action and be ready to accommodate it in his routine.

It is also advisable to make use of commands such as ‘no’, ‘bad boy’ and others if your dog is trying to shit inside the house.

If you have already started with the obedience training, he will understand the commands and stop till further instructions.

This will cause him some discomfort initially but that will make him understand that he is not supposed to potty inside house.

You have to be consistent in taking your dog out immediately when it starts showing signs of restlessness or starts circling around you as this might mean that he wants to relieve himself.

Sometimes dog use the method of scratching the door to indicate that they have to go out, either to play or to shit. It is also advisable to reward him every time he makes you aware of the fact that he wants to go out to potty as this will encourage him.

You could also use the opposite technique of taking away his toy if he decided to poop inside house and returning it only when he takes a shit outside house.
